Do You Want To Build Health Or Produce Disease?

“As I see it, every day you do one of two things: build health or produce disease in yourself.” Adelle Davis.
I endorse Adelle Davis’s view. Yes, we get better at either building health or producing disease in ourselves. We fall prey to the lifestyle habits we have developed over a period of time—healthy or unhealthy. Why? Man is a creature of habit. We fall prey to the comfort zone that we develop. We tend to be reluctant to change; even if the change indicates a positive outcome—a creature of habit—irony.
This statement by Adelle Davis is so true. This is a time of constant bombardment by television commercials. They are wreaking havoc by marketing and alluring us to consume all the wrong food products. Television commercials shrewdly market food products—not food. Of course they are here to squeeze out more money from you. As they continue to market the food products, you continue to consume them with much enthusiasm. You think if it tastes good it should be healthy. This way you continue to eat them and produce disease in yourself. You never mind to consume healthy food. If I am correct, most of you don’t have an idea that there is something called healthy food consumption. You think it doesn’t matter if you exercise regularly and eat healthy foods. You have heard it said that diabetes and high blood pressure and other life-style related diseases are going to be at your door-step no matter what. So, you are well prepared to take the usual treaded route. You have personified what Robert Heinlein says, “In the absence of clearly defined goals, we become strangely loyal to performing daily trivia until ultimately we become enslaved by it.” You have been said that diabetes and blood pressure cannot be handled without medication. You need to take pills. Irrespective of your age and fitness level you are advised to walk a mere half an hour. It doesn’t dawn on you that you might be capable of doing much more vigorous movement. Because you don’ want any change.
You also exacerbate the situation by consuming alcohol and smoking cigarettes. It is very well known that alcohol is a toxin that damages the liver and brain. Cigarette smoking is also dangerous causing cancer, lung diseases, and high blood pressure.
