Bicep And Triceps.

When it comes to bicep and triceps workout, many have come to know by now that I don’t give much prominence to these workouts, but I have seen in many gyms that they do spend a complete hour for training arms alone. Gymmers need to qualitatively spend time on huge movements like the squat, deadlift, and clean and press , for they are the ones which give the biggest bang for the buck. You build thick musculature over your body by performing these movements rather than spending time on doing arm workout. Moreover, I am no way suggesting that performing compound movements would never build your arms. In fact, all these movements help the girth of the arms to adapt and grow when you are trying to handle more weights on the compound lifts. It is not that you do compound moves and possess tiny arms. That would never happen. Your arms adapt, for they have to assist in all the movements.

Bill Hinbern, who owns www.superstrengthtraining.com and sells bodybuilding memorabilia shares a similar view. Bill, who had regular correspondence with John Grimek, (who according to me is the greatest bodybuilder of all time) states that the big champ’s theory and suggestions for training was rarely complicated. He kept it very simple and his training always were centered around squat, deadlift, and presses. What is more interesting is that John Grimek on many occasions had told Bill that he hated doing arms.

If any one has seen John Grimek’s old pictures, one would never argue against him, for he possessed one of the best physique a man could possess. What is more amazing is that he was a natural bodybuilder, for steroids didn’t exist during his era.

  1. Coach V – I completely agree with you. But the craving for huge biceps goes beyond fitness. It is the ego satisfaction one derives out of having big arms.

    1. Yes, I do agree. But after lifting for many years, you will start disliking working out for your arms.
