A Few More Benefits Of Strength Training.

Below are the benefits of strength training pertaining to specific factors which I had listed yesterday:

Develop Strong Bones:  By stressing your bones strength training increases bone density and reduces the risk of osteoporosis.

Control Your Weight:  As you gain muscle, your body’s BMR increases which in turn burns more calories.  The more toned your muscles, the easier it is to control weight.

Reduce Your Risk Of Injury:  Building your muscles help protect your joints from injury.  It also contributes to better balance, which can help during old age. For example, two of my  gym clients who have ACL tear  after several months of strength training the incidence of their knees giving out is far less, and they both are able to walk several miles without any pain, for earlier regular walks itself caused them much discomfort.

Boost Your Stamina:  As you get stronger, you won’t fatigue as easily.  Several studies have been pointing that strength training also plays a major role in improving ones cardiovascular fitness.

Manage Chronic Conditions:  Strength training can reduce the symptoms and signs of many chronic conditions, including arthritis, back pain, depression, diabetes, obesity, and osteoporosis.

The above stated facts have also been substantiated by Mayo Clinic, USA.  Mayo Clinic specializes in hard to treat diseases, and is known for innovative and effective treatments for diseases that had gone undiagnosed or under-treated in the same patients with other doctors.  Mayo Clinic has been near the top of Best Hospitals for 20 years.

I know that most of us would wait for a verdict by medical science to accept any finding.  But now I don’t know what’s stopping us?
