Endorphin And Exercise.

Have you ever wondered why is that you feel good after a grueling workout?  Or when you run?

The answer is endorphins.  The euphoria after you finish your workout is caused by the release of endorphin.  Endorphins are chemicals produced in the brain, which binds to neuro-receptors to relieve pain, enhance the immune system, reduce stress, and delay the aging process.

Exercise stimulates the release of endorphins.  The release of endorphins– the feel good factor– generally lasts for few hours.  However,  the duration of the feel good factor depends on the intensity of the workout:  The more intense the workouts are the longer the euphoria would last.   Nonetheless, it doesn’t mean that you should workout rigorously each and everyday you visit the gym, for working out intensely everyday has its pitfalls.  Moreover, the intensity of the workout is entirely contextual.

I believe now you know why you cannot deny addiction when it comes to regular visits to the gym.
