Bruce Lee: A True Legend.

I continue to be fascinated to know about this true legend. He had attained many feats, which till date are unmatched. He always tried his level best to go beyond limits. He was way ahead of his time when it came to physical training, film making, and fine tuning his martial art: Jeet Kun Do.
Here is what Bill Hinbern has to say about Bruce Lee. Bill Hinbern had met Bruce lee as the legend had contacted Bill Hinbern for some training information regarding grip strength. In addition Bruce Lee had also ordered another back to back magazines from Bill Hinbern. I had jotted about Bill Hinbern in a previous blog entry that he sells bodybuilding memorabilia at www.superstrengthtraining.com. If anyone of you is interested to buy old time strength training courses, you can order from the above mentioned website.
He says,
“While you may think that it’s all done with choreography
and camera angles, but let’s take a look at what Lee could
REALLY do.
Now, mind you, he weighed in at a monstrous 145 pounds at
5 feet 6 inches.
As for his speed:
His striking speed from hands at his sides to 3 feet
straight out was clocked at five hundredths of a second.
His combat moves were so fast that sometimes camera film
would only register a blur. To remedy this, many scenes
were shot in 32 rather than the standard 24 frames per
second.
He could snatch a dime off and leave a penny on a person’s
open palm before they could close it
He could throw grains of rice in the air and catch them
using chopsticks.
Regarding his power:
He could break 6 inch thick wooden boards.
He could thrust his fingers through unopened cans of Coca
Cola when soft drinks cans were made of steel rather than
aluminum.
He could sidekick a 200 pound bag and make it thump the
ceiling.
He sidekicked and broke a 150 punching bag while training
with James Coburn.
His strength:
He could bench press 260 lbs for 3 sets of 10 reps in his
regular workout.
He could hold an elevated v-sit up position for 30 minutes
or longer.
He could do 50 one-arm chin-ups.
He could do one-arm push-ups using only the thumb and index
finger.”

He was a man who believed in what he said. For, he not only talked but walked the talk. I would love to quote one of his most famous statement. He had said, ““If you always put limit on everything you do,physical or anything else. It will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them”.
A very inspiring quote indeed. I am also posting two videos where you can be a witness to some of his strength feats and the passion he carried in his words and deeds, for the explanation he provides about “Being Like Water” in the second video is truly motivating. You can clearly see the intensity in his words, and that he truly meant what he said.

a true legend. do yo know at what age he started training and the kind of workouts he followed, etc?
As far as I know, he started training very early. He was training with weights, bodyweight, punching bags(boxing), grip strength training, and various other modalities. He insisted on training the whole body.
