Thought For The Day

So true! Yes, indeed successful people look pretty, and their achievements look beautiful. But do we ever think about the journey they have treaded? Every one of us wants to reach the top. We myopically view only at the end result. Do we ever think about the toil and turbulence successful men go through to reach the top?

On a similar note, yesterday a friend of my good old college days called me over the phone. He recently joined a fitness facility that opened nearby his house. Right after a month of training in that gym my friend undervalued the facility and cried to me that he was going nowhere. His complaint is that he lost 1.5 kilograms of weight, but the personal trainer whom he appoints promised that he would lose 5 kilograms of weight. Meanwhile, he comes to me and asked my help in charting out a routine. I assisted him with the regime, but he now insists that he would as well train under me though he has to travel a long distance.

My question to him–is he going to be as judgmental as he is with the personal trainer? By the way, I am not the one who can promise daydreaming results. As pointed out in the poster, he should have the guts to take risks, focus rightfully, be persistent, tackle failure judiciously, be able to take massive action, sacrifice a lot of things, change his negative habits—develop positive habits, and last but not the least work hard till you reach the goal. I mean you need to work towards the goal and make it happen. And believe me, it is a staggered journey. It will beat you down on each step. Ha! This reminds me of the famous quote in the movie Rocky Balboa that is boldly pasted on my gym wall.

Rocky says,” The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place. It will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me or nobody is going to hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you’re hit, it is about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward, how much can you take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done!”

We all better believe this!
