I am a voracious reader, and I honestly doubted what this memoir, The Black Prince, written by Robby Robinson, could offer me after reading and researching several books. However, I was in for a surprise. By the way, Robby Robinson is acclaimed as one of the bodybuilding greats who was an American professional bodybuilder. He went on to secure numerous awards. Now, at the age of 67 years he continues to inspire men and women who want to lead a fitness lifestyle.
The reviewing of a book cannot be justified by writing fewer lines. I, however, didn’t want to bore you to death.
Review of the book, The Black Prince
The book embarks by recounting Robinson’s younger days, which is magnificently sketched; similarly, the story Of Robby evolving as one of the greatest bodybuilder is also captivating. Moreover, the never say die attitude of Robby’s soul reverberates through the whole book. That was a good take home message for me. There are also several other virtuous nuggets, nonetheless. For example, that clean eating always rules and, more importantly, to be positive no matter what.
On a similar note, if you are familiar with Arnold’s era of bodybuilding then you are in for a treat. If you think Joe Weider is the father of bodybuilding then this book will astound you. Likewise, all aspiring weight trainers look up to the book Arnold’s encyclopedia authored by Arnold for their various queries. Many find dubious answers to their queries, but the black prince will not stop to entertain and yet educate you. Moreover, it doesn’t stop to inform you in an appropriate direction.
Last but not the least; the book also contains several crucial notes on steroids– I mean the crusade against them. Those of you who have read Arnold’s, so called, Magnus Opus should read The Black Prince and be prepared for a roller coaster ride.
Alas! I didn’t want the book to end. It did end, and sadly it happened so soon. Mr. Robinson, you are truly an inspiration. I recommend this book. It is available at Flipkart.
