Life is Like A Cup of Coffee

I will share an inspiring story with you. Since it is a Monday, I think it would suit you best to remove your Monday blues. I also feel that you would have read the story, as it is circulated in social networking sites. Nevertheless, I want you to go through it again. Moreover, I have also attached a video that depicts this story.
The Story:
A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life.
Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups – porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite – telling them to help themselves to the coffee.
When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said: “If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups have been taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress.
Be assured that the cup itself adds no quality to the coffee. In most cases it is just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we drink. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the best cups… And then you began eyeing each other’s cups.
Now consider this: Life is the coffee; the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, and the type of cup we have does not define, nor change the quality of life we live.
Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee. Savor the coffee, not the cups! The happiest people don’t have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything.

My thoughts:
Now, sit back a minute and think what is really important in life. The one and only thing that comes to my mind is HEALTH. Perhaps, you know its importance if you have suffered ill health in some kind. I know many of you would, however, have taken health for granted. For that reason alone, you don’t mind eating junk food day in and day out. It doesn’t matter if you continue to gain excess of fat. Only when your health parameters start ringing loud bells like high cholesterol levels, enlarged liver, or for the worst a mild heart attack, you will consider the necessary steps.
What do you think you should do? Your body is sending alarm signals that everything is not right with your lifestyle. It is high time you take care of your body. You are now forced to eat healthy food. Also, whether you hate it or like it you are now asked to exercise. Instinctively, you know that eating healthy and exercising regularly is a definite cure for many diseases and the possible way out.
Going by the above story, know that if you want to lead a vibrant life the utmost prerequisite is your health. Mahatma Gandhi, rightly says, “It is health that is real wealth and not pieces of gold and silver.” Rightly so, my friends! Buy expensive bikes, cars, and houses, but know that true wealth dwells in your health. Hence, without health imagining about amassing more wealth is insignificant.
