My Rant

From a very long time I thought about discussing the following topic here in the blog. My only concern was that as this is a fitness blog, I should be stating about health and nutrition alone. However, since human beings are dynamic in nature, even by thought, we should all be approaching life from a holistic view.
Being healthy and fit not only nourishes your body but also your mind. Nourishing the mind is paramount, for the intellect can easily spiral down and life becomes stale. Just for example, one of the best ways to nourish your mind is to passionately pursue your hobby. Your hobbies can be painting, travelling, reading books, writing, etc. What happens when you do that? You are nudging your intellect to THINK. You are enriching your life. Your special interests provide a new dimension to your thought process. In other words, you are vigorously exercising your mind.
What do you think has engaged me? I should say that I am extremely fortunate, for I have been a voracious reader. Reading books have helped to learn and unlearn things. Yes, there are several books that help you to unburden yourself. For example, to name a few among the long list of books, the book titled We’re All Doing time written by Bo Lozoff will help you to do that. Also, Tuesdays with Morrie written by Mitch Albom is another book I can remember that helps you to unlearn things. Mind you, there are several books that can cater to your needs. You just need to widely open your eyes. A variety of books are for the taking. They help you to put things into proper perspective. So you see that reading books have been a constant guide.
Also, I can name many books that helped me to learn, for I have been constantly burning for knowledge. Books can truly help you to do that. It all started from reading R.K. Narayan’s Malgudi Day’s and other books written by him. Yes, these books were amusing back when I started reading. I have also enjoyed and learnt by reading books written by Khushwant Singh, Richard Alpert, Hermen Hesse, Nikos Kazantzakis, Swami Vivekananda, etc. I should not forget to mention Andre Agassi’s Autobiography titled Open—supremely hilarious and Rafael Nadal’s Autobiography Titled Rafa My Story.
Moreover, off late, since 3 or 4 years, I am seriously pursuing to improve my English writing skills. Thanks to my mentor, Todd Reinhard, for providing the food for thought and helping me to understand the language. I believe this is one area where I feel there are no limits. Because learning as we think doesn’t occur in a linear fashion. It has many variables in it. It branches out in many directions, as after constantly practicing for so many years, I still feel I am nowhere.
