Goal Setting Continued.

I promised to speak about goals relating to fitness and here are my thoughts.
First of all, aiming to be fit and healthy should be our long term goal. This would invariably mean to embrace the fitness lifestyle. A fitness lifestyle demands you to be physically active, and at the same time eat healthy foods, for both go hand in hand. Now, I am not suggesting that you should only gym and not do any other physical activity. For example, you can be fit playing an hour’s game of badminton, basketball, or jogging. But whatever activity you involve into, you will have to learn to eat healthy. Because you are what you eat.
In addition, we also can afford to have short term goals. Goals like breaking our personal records. Perhaps, you want to dead lift 400 pounds, perform 20 pull-ups in a row, or 10 hands stand pushups, etc. Now, having short term goals of this kind will force you to think and redefine yourself. I believe we can also have short term goals in whatever walk of life we choose. Goals of that nature will force you to organize your thoughts. Well, you may ask me isn’t life constantly changing? Then, how can having rigid goals help? I think the fulfillment it gives for the struggle and effort we put is what makes us better human beings. As Phil Jackson (Former American basketball player) says “Winning is important to me, but what brings me real joy is the experience of being fully engaged in whatever I’m doing.”
As you can see possessing a journal and a goal go hand in hand. It is a sure way to stick to the plan rather than jump around.
Below are a few beautiful quotes, which I would like to present to you. They speak loads about goals and success.
“I’m not going to die because I failed as someone else. I’m going to succeed as myself.” Margaret Cho
“It is a paradoxical but profoundly true and important principle of life that the most likely way to reach a goal is to be aiming not at that goal itself but at some more ambitious goal beyond it.” Arnold Toynbee
“A goal is a dream with a deadline.” Napoleon Hill
“Always do your best. What you plant now, you will harvest later.” Og Mandino
“You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.” C. S. Lewis
“Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe it can achieve.” Napoleon Hill

Thanks Bro for the wonderful note. I think nobody can over rule the necessity of goal setting and working towards it. For one thing, goals properly set will challenge ourselves and metamorphose us to better levels in life – for we are up against the worst enemy which is ourselves and victories over ourselves does really matter.
Thanks for the appreciation.
