What do You Lack?

You simply lack the motivation. When I say “you” I am referring to most of you who are demotivated, for I stumble upon many of them on a daily basis in the gym. Perhaps, you are a fat slob. Your mind shouts loud and says “You are an endomorph and you are destined to be fat.” Well, nothing can be further from the truth. Do you mean to say that none of the obese individuals have lost weight? Do you want an answer? Come to the gym and see with your own eyes.
You have to fight against the devil—your mind. Work against it. Believe me! It is a Herculean task. The mind always tells you to do the undesirable. For example, People with diabetes crave for sweets though it is not advised to consume them. Likewise, if you want to quit smoking cigarettes you may end up smoking more. Each minute your mind tells you to get lazy, but you have to fight it out and get moving.
How do you build motivation? One possible way is to mingle with highly motivated people. Perhaps, the person whom you meet is struggling in some other endeavor. You, however, have to apply the same motivational principles to your life. On the flipside, there is no place, whatsoever, for negativity. People with negative approach are a big no-no. As Joel Osteen says, “You cannot hang out with negative people and expect to live a positive life.” Period.
Do you know how competitive exams students attempt to pass the exam? They unite with likeminded people. They stay in particular groups where each individual is pursuing his own dream/competitive exam. It doesn’t have to be the same exam but the drive they possess binds and motivates them all. You can apply the same principle in the gym. Find out guys who are struggling to lose weight but are motivated to take the next step; those who are striving to imbibe a healthy lifestyle change to bring the desired result. Or you can speak to guys who have already reached their destiny.
Know that these videos, however, are also trying to do the same. Perhaps, these videos may not help you in the long term. Zig Zaglar says, “People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily.” So use it or lose it.
The second video is also motivational. It is the self-confidence of these motivated men that deny the lions their kill. So you see that you can derive motivation from several sources. It is there for the taking. As the Holy Bible says, “And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”
